Flying high at the Sky Bar, Bangkok
Posted by Cool Your Jets IV on June 26, 2011
In the movie ‘The Hangover II’ there’s a scene set in the Lebua Hotel – a helicopter shot of the World Famous Sky Bar, an open air restaurant and cocktail bar set on the 64th floor of this hotel – one of the highest open-air bars in the whole of Asia. It was here that our friends Lisa and Jamie had bought us some gift vouchers to enjoy a cocktail or few whilst in Bangkok.
Arriving just before sunset and stepping out of the lift, we were greeted by the most stunning panoramic view of the City, it was just breathtaking and we felt very special being there and looking down upon the city. We quickly found the bar and ordered our cocktails – I opted for the Hangovertini, concocted by the mixologist whilst the Hangover II crew and actors were filming there – it was a great cocktail and very morish though I opted for a Ginger Martini for my next drink which was also excellent. Both of Shelley’s were also very agreeable!
As the sun set the city came alive with lights and was beautiful to see the city like that – a truly memorable evening!

Looks a bit like the cocktail bar on top off Peckham’s multi story car park.

Ah Franks – the only difference being the lifts, these smelt of fresh flowers whilst those in the Peckham Multi-story are more fruity – old piss springs to mind! A great bar though and I think it re-opens in the next week or so? The view is same same though!
