No Camel Toe in Ko Tao

Posted by Cool Your Jets IV on June 19, 2011

Following the full moon party on Ko Pha Ngan we set sail (boarded a Catamaran more like) to see the small island of Ko Tao – so named because its outline resembles a Turtle nose-diving. Now I’ve not seen too many Turtles though I’m pretty sure they look nothing like the island of Ko Tao – with a little more imagination, it’s like a  squashed jelly-baby, upside down(!)

It’s a tiny island with very little to do other than kick back and take it easy, my kind of place!

We’re staying not far from where the various boats dock, a place called Mae Hat – it’s ok, the main area is a place called Hat Sai Ree which is roughly 2km from here and for some reason, it’s choka block full of Lady Boys which given the size of the place is surprising to say the least, not a camel toe in sight!

Last night we hooked up with Mathieu – a French guy we met whilst leaving East Railay who then changed his plans to go to the full moon with us a couple of days back. He’s a bon ouef(!) and has been working in Africa for the last ten years. Soon to return to Marseille before leaving Europe for a motorbike trip round South America later this year.

Whilst drinking last night Mathieu suggested we hire some motorbikes to see the Island – drunkenly I agreed and this morning we picked up two spanking new Kawasaki KLX250 Motorbikes – both bikes had less than 400km on the clock. With no protective clothing nor a properly fitted helmet, we blazed off to check out the island. Due to the size of the place theres minimal roads, mostly dirt tracks which in the main are either steep uphill or steep downhills – quite sandy and slippy, the fitted cross tyres (road/off-road) were so so, I certainly didn’t feel that confident on them.

Just as we stopped for lunch the  heavens opened and it properly lashed it down, having no choice other than sitting it out, we ordered some great food and shared a couple of Changs – a great finish to the day.

Make sure you go to shark bay on Koh Tao in the evening and snorkel with the sharks as they come in to sleep. Also go to the health spa that is located on the hill above this bay…. it is something out of a bond movie. I can also suggest Bans if you want to do any diving training. They were the most professional outfit on the island….. Stay clear of chicks with dicks.

    • Thanks for the tip re Shark Bay -might be worth staying an extra day so will check with Shelley – we’re already here an extra night as on the 21st theres a big Muay Thai fight which I want to see. Really loving this place – very chilled and good vibe with plent of CWD!

What a crack up! We didn’t see any lady boys when we were there but obviously we weren’t going to the right places. We did Ko Tao before the Full Moon party, but it would have been perfect to hang out there afterwards.
