China Town

Posted by Cool Your Jets IV on January 23, 2011

We recently visited China Town which is  three stops away on the subte. Not as big as either London or New York, it’s still worth a visit and the main streets are centered around Mendoza y Arribenos. There’s numerous restaurants and Chinese Supermarkets – if you’re looking for spices then this is definitely the place to come to.

At the Subte (Jose Hernandez, Linea D) is a memorial to the Sailors who lost their lives aboard the  Argentine warship, the ARA General Belgrano.

The Belgrano was torpedoed during the Falklands War by the Royal Navy, with a loss of 323 Argentine lives.
