Next Stop, Dakar
Posted by Cool Your Jets IV on December 8, 2010
We left Le Havre in the early hours of this morning and we’re currently sailing south west en route to the Bay of Biscay, which is the sea just off the coast of western France.
At this stage the weather has been glorious and following lunch, us, the Bavarians and the Germans stood on the deck enjoying the beautiful sunshine.
(My Roberts Short Wave Radio came in to good use today as I was able to tune into five live for the football!) Forest beat Cardiff today, 2 – 0, away from home which is a great win, given Cardiff are top of the league (though I think we may have knocked them from that perch!!)
Unfortunately, last night we were told that we will be stopping at neither Bilbao, Spain nor Casablanca in Morocco. We so wanted to visit both places which is a real shame so for us it’s at least 6 days before we arrive in Dakar.
On a positive note, today is Saturday which means we get Pizza for dinner!
We awoke this morning (21/11) in the Bay of Biscay, the sun was shining and it was glorious out on the deck though following lunch we ploughed straight into a storm. Literally as I type this the wind is howling past my porthole, the rain is lashing it down and there’s also a thunder and lightning storm – the waves thankfully are not too big and the boat is quite stable…
